North American Sales Manager
Interested in leading the new business sales growth of a well financed, rapidly expanding, technically based feed, nutrition and ingredients company? We are seeking a great Sales Manager to continue the growth curve of the past 2 years, with a small, but enthusiastic group of sales professionals. Our client has great, global industry product positioning and reputation. We are seeking a solid, proven individual with a previous sales career and current regional or national sales-team leadership-management experience for a growing multi-species product line-up. This company prides themselves on being a value added sales staff that creates win-win solutions with customers. They strive to build rapport and become part of the "management decision team" with both dealer/distribution channel partners, consulting nutritionists, feed company nutritionists, and direct large customer accounts. Candidate Must-Haves:
Primary responsibility is to lead and support the sales growth and profitability of the company.
Proven Sales experience in the livestock industry of 10 years minimum combined sales in both retail and wholesale.
Supervision experience to hire, coach and manage a growing sales staff.
Experience in new business and market development with proven examples.
High competency in overall feed values, nutrition and value added products.
Business savvy - budgeting, forecasting, contracting, operational management, overall PLs, etc.
Must be willing to learn and implement new and advanced concepts and principles in livestock nutrition.
Good communication skills: a) writing - letters, emails, industry articles; b) speaking - presentations to staff, producers and business audiences.
Good computer software skills with Word, Excel, Power Point, email, etc.
Be willing to travel when needed to service and support dealer accounts and other sales staff (estimated time on the road may be 70%+).
Be able to supervise inside and outside sales staff as well as manage,grow, and develop house accounts with primary key account responsibility.
The candidate must have a positive attitude, good work ethic and be a good team member with a pleasant personality, positive leadership, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. We value technical skill and experience, but we value the ability to be a positive member on our team even higher - it is a must have. Candidate Pluses-To-Have:
Multi-species nutrition experience, i.e. dairy, beef, poultry, swine, pet foods, etc. Be willing to learn nutrition and products for these other species.
