Pullet Supervisor

Ensure grower has set up house correctly, prior to chicks arriving at contract houses.
Create lighting programs for each flock.
Help grower with the correct placement of baby chicks in houses and ensure proper distribution.
Get samples and weigh chicks at placement.
Order feed for pullet houses - sending full feed loads with no returns.
Take supplies to growers to include vaccines, wormer, chick paper, rodent control, etc.
Ensure growers are using supplies properly.
Visit pullet houses weekly to ensure proper management: feed, water, ventilation and lighting.
Follow biosecurity standards.
Troubleshoot any issues with growers when there are any problems.
Check behind crew work by examining beak rimming and vaccinations.
Spray/vaccinate several times during each flock.
Keep accurate records - ensuring growers are keeping accurate records: mortality, outside access log, sanitation sheets, etc.
At the end of each flock, take blood and litter samples. Process and send to appropriate lab.
Take blood samples to Raleigh if AI testing is required.
Always look for ways to improve the flock.
Work closely with other flock supervisors.
Helps drive all Environment Management Systems (EMS) in an impactful manner to include monitoring/reducing operationally-related negative effects on the environment as well as pollution prevention. A successful candidate for the Pullet Supervisor will possess the following:
2+ years of experience in the intake, care and moving of adolescent chickens.
Supervisory experience with proven ability to train, motivate, coach, discipline and retain talent.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient computer skills including Windows based programs and systems.
Compensation: Compensation could be $50,000 depending on experience.
