A leading marketer and handler of grains, oilseeds and pulses is seeking a Customer Account Representative Trainee. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the promotion and sales of grain programs and services, starting employment during the training period in Grand Forks, ND. The Customer Account Representative Trainee role is a training opportunity intended to prepare the successful candidate for a future Customer Account Representative role within the company. The length of the training program will vary based upon the individual; however, is typically 12 to 18 months in duration. Once the Customer Account Representative Trainee has successfully completed the training program, the Trainee will be required to apply for Customer Account Representative vacancies throughout the company. As such, candidates must be willing to relocate. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the procurement of grain over the counter or by contacting customers by phone to promote and/or buy grain.
  • Coordinate the movement of grain and related administrative requirements in conjunction with customers and operations staff.
  • Execute programs and achieves targets within assigned market center and customer list.
  • Participate in establishing, maintaining and analyzing customer profiles and reports in order to identify and act upon trends, while considering the market needs of current, potential and new customers.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Develop an understanding of the grain business including grain pipeline awareness, financial reporting and risk management.
Desired Profile:
  • High School diploma required. Some college classes in Business, Sales, Marketing, or Agriculture will be considered an asset. A combination of education and experience that results in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence will be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern farm practices and industry regulations.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Must be willing to relocate.
