Our client is a recognized leader in developing products for infection control and decontamination for the animal health, food processing, and industrial processing industries to maximize health, safety and production. The company is an entrepreneurial firm recognized in the industry for high quality products and service. They leverage their innovative product line via a rapidly expanding sales distribution network. Currently they are seeking candidates for the role of Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations. While it is preferred that this role be located in MD, there is flexibility for the right candidate to be located elsewhere. Reporting to the President, the SVP is responsible for developing and advancing growth initiatives on a global scale and across all market verticals, ensuring the integrated commercial success of the organization. This role encompasses all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing business and market strategy, achieving business targets and maximizing business impact of investments. Overseeing all sales and marketing personnel, the Senior VP is responsible for developing and executing market strategies to ensure top line revenue and profitability goals are met and maintains full P&L responsibility over the sales and marketing departments. RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead the organization's overall business development and commercial strategies by determining and evaluating the company's core competitive differentiators; maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for vertical and geographic expansion, including international growth, customers, markets and new industry developments.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of new market verticals and geographies and develop business plans and financial analyses to support entrance into those markets. Ensure proper resourcing for market development.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen key account and end user relationships to ensure pull-through sales strategy.
  • Oversee training, support, development and guidance of sales and marketing staff.
  • Develop and analyze pricing strategy for all products aligned with growth and margin requirements.
  • Plan, present and exhibit at industry trade shows and conferences. Proactively network with key industry contacts and KOL's to build long-lasting business relationships.
  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic marketing plan, ensuring sales and marketing initiative alignment.
  • Assume a key role in innovation and product ideation process. In collaboration with R&D, help to drive and prioritize new product development through R&D and product launch.
  • Align reporting, training, and employee incentive programs with performance management priorities.
  • Establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by the sales and marketing departments.
DESIRED PROFILE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or related field, plus 15+ years of progressive leadership experience into senior level sales/marketing role
  • Master's degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years in food or animal safety industry experience is preferred
