- 5+ years of related work experience (a combination of related education and experience would be accepted)
- Agricultural background preferred
- Computer proficiency, including the Microsoft Office Suite of software
- Basic grain grading knowledge and experience
- Must be a self-starter with excellent time management.
- Effective time management and communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must possess Series 3 and 30 commodities brokerage licenses or obtain those by an agreed upon date. JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Ag Employer in their search for a Grain Originator based out of one of their Central Nebraska offices. The Grain Originator will be responsible for calling area producers for the purpose of buying grain. The Grain Originator must understand and utilize sound risk management practices at all times and properly execute and the proper paperwork to assure grain contracts are complete and binding. Other duties include:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uphold and adhere to company policies
- Increase grain volumes and margin opportunities
- Maintain excellent customer communications through telephone calls, in-person on-farm visits, and timely e-mails or text messaging.
- Prospect for new customers to increase business volume
- Demonstrate proper risk management understanding and technique
- Conduct accurate follow-through and documentation between all contract stakeholders
- Promote approved marketing programs to gain customer participation
- Design and maintain tracking spreadsheets
- Coordinate payment for producer grain working closely with company grain clerks
- Communicate current market news and events to customers and co-workers
- Promote educational opportunities with producers, employees, farm managers, and bank loan officers
- Work closely with all locations personnel, managers, and salespeople.
