Vice President Procurement
Ag 1 Source is looking for a Vice President Procurement to lead the procurement function, including development and implementation of strategic sourcing, procurement, and fertilizer supply management strategies for the organization. This role ensures the organization attains the best value in product and services required to enable achievement of its goals with tactics that will generate industry-leading effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and implementation of fertilizer procurement and supply strategies across a wide market that requires multiple vendors and transportation strategies. Ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders to provide strategic insights on each of their unique business needs, help them resolve complex issues, and build long-term fertilizer supply strategies. What you will be doing:
Manage vendor relationships and develop strategies to maintain profitable supply.
Lead the research and analysis of crop nutrient market trends to ensure sourcing and procurement strategies are current, risks are identified, and insight is gained through the analysis of costs, benefits and supply markets.
Provide leadership, direction and effective management of the procurement team and cross-functional working groups to achieve a high-level of performance
Creation and management of short, mid and long-term goals and objectives.
Budget management for categories under management and for procurement itself A successful candidate for the VP Procurement will possess the following:
Experience in purchasing, contract development and contract administration for fertilizer products.
Strong skills in conducting contract negotiations strategies, directly negotiating distribution contracts and agreements of significant complexity and ability to write complex distribution agreements to protect the company"s interests.
Compensation: Compensation will depend on experience.
