Business Development Sales Manager
Ag 1 Source is looking for a Business Development Sales Manager to grow and develop sales across a region of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, DelMarVa and Kentucky for a solid company that is primed to grow exponentially in the next few years. This is a great time to get in with an organization that isn"t brand new, but they"ve taken the time to do the research, have the right support folks on staff and are now ready to focus on their distributor customers to enhance their business.
This organization needs someone with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, they don"t want to micromanage, nor do they have the time. Experience is critical here as well as the historical success of selling a value added product. We want people who have been successful in this region who can come in and create demand and then grow and manage that business, with minimal oversight. Support is there, but this isn"t a big company with a lot of bureaucracy and red-tape, we need someone who is not afraid to tackle this and all that is involved, which may be more than what someone would only be responsible for in a larger organization. This organization has a limited distribution model. One is established in this region already, you will have input on who it makes best sense to bring on board next.
Working closely with the distribution partners to understand and sell the products.
This will be a bit more of a key account management strategy, but working with the various individual locations to continue to support and help grow the business will be necessary.
Focus on the value and understand plant/soil health enough to gain an understanding of those involved, not looking for a PhD technical sales person.
Leverage your network to grow the business. A successful candidate for this Business Development Sales Manager will possess the following:
Considerable experience successfully selling value added products in this region
A solid network and understanding of the retail/distribution model in this region
Ability to be self-motivated and work remotely
Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment with little guidance
Desire to work in a smaller, nimble organization where they value your opinion
Compensation: Will depend on experience but targeting a base in the $90-$150K range, solid success and experience is necessary! There will be an incentive program that targets roughly 30% of base compensation.
Benefits: This company provides traditional benefits, car allowance, fuel, oil changes, phone, computer, etc.
Desired Location: North Carolina or possibly Virginia would be the preferred location, but the Sales Manager must be in the above listed states.
