De Lacy Executive are searching for a Trainee Assistant Farm Manager to work on an established broiler farm based in Gloucestershire. This is an exciting chance for an individual with livestock experience who wants to begin a career in the poultry sector. Full training can be given but candidates should have some basic experience with livestock. Further training and career development opportunities will be provided for individuals with the right motivation, who are keen to develop and learn, and who have a real affinity for poultry management. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Trainee Manager will be involved in managing all aspects running of a poultry broiler farm on a day to day basis, helping to ensure it is managed to high standards within designated time frames. It is essential to maintain the health and welfare of the poultry and ensure the highest possible standards of animal husbandry including bio security, bird welfare, vaccination needs, nutrition, housing and ventilation. Responsibilities:
- Livestock health and welfare.
- Environment and husbandry.
- Site cleanliness and general maintenance.
- Liaising with management as necessary and making own decisions where appropriate.
- Stock placement.
- Health and safety.
- Bio-security.
- Livestock Experience.
- Previous poultry experience would be an advantage.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Enthusiasm and drive.
- Good computer skills.
- A full UK licence.
