Ag 1 Source is looking for a Farm Land Acquisition Manager for California. This role is for a land investment company looking to expand their footprint in permanent crops and wine grapes. It is a very solid, well respected company in the industry. Whats in it for you:

Source and screen potential farm and ranch land opportunities to evaluate attractiveness within investment parameters.
Build and own a sourcing network - attending relevant trade shows and industry meetings. Network should include growers, land owners, agribusinesses, etc.
Supporting the acquisition team in finding potential properties.
Potentially managing said properties if needed until the team grows. (Tenant/asset management) A successful candidate for the Farm Land Acquisition Manager will possess the following:
A network in various agribusiness industries would be helpful:
Landowners
Growers
End user agribusinesses - packing sheds, hullers, processors, etc.
Agribusiness suppliers such as chemical retailers, seed dealers etc.
Brokers
Bankers, attorneys, CPSs working in the ag sector
Strong motivation to build this network.
Be able to find and understand water rights, environmental conditions, crop health etc.
Having a background in seed, crop inputs, calling on growers to know the market, etc. would be very desirable in this role.
Bachelor"s degree in an ag related discipline like ag econ or business is desired.
Familiarity with ag real estate would be useful.
Good interpersonal skills in being able to approach industry experts at all levels.
Compensation: The compensation package is excellent and fair depending on level of experience. There is a good bonus package available for achieving fair and reasonable goals.

Desired Location: This position could be located in the coastal area, central valley or wine regions. This could also potentially be more than one position.
