One of the top tree nut processors in the United States, known for superior quality and service globally, is hiring a Production Scheduling Manager for their state-of-the-art processing facility in the San Joaquin Valley, CA. The Production Scheduling Manager is a key leader for the organization and is responsible for generating and maintaining effective production scheduling which supports production goals and sales forecasts. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Master Planner who trains, oversees and mentors a staff of 4.
  • Collaborates with the Operations and Sales teams in developing planning and scheduling needs. Enters data in reporting systems ensuring documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Communicates with departments when there are variations in product demand and works directly with stakeholders to resolve scheduling issues.
  • Develops and distributes production schedules in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and implements system and process improvements to enable overall business process improvement. Further develops existing forecast and supply programs to optimize inventory levels.
  • Improves forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and processes.
  • Analyzes inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks to ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
  • Drives, promotes and develops positive communication and acts as liaison with stakeholders (Sanitation, Maintenance, Production, Sales).
  • Coordinates and plans R&D trials and new production runs.
  • Assesses impact to production schedule from customer sales opportunities that may be affecting demand for product over and above the plan. Review material shortages, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with Purchasing and Manufacturing to meet customer requirements. Propose changes as needed.
  • Assists in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
DESIRED PROFILE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field. Will also consider a combination of experience and education.
  • 3+ years of experience in Production Scheduling with manufacturing background.
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office Suite knowledge with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with ERP Systems and capable to learn manufacturing software systems
