Are you looking for a great company that is wanting a strong DVM lead person for their entire genetic system? US-DVM Degree and experience requirements are mandatory, but a cultural fit is more important than a poster child of the industry! The position of Genetic Services DVM will function as a Director of Health Services for the entire genetic pyramid, and is a key team member of the company"s decision makers. This position has dotted line relationships to several other executive level team members. Primary Function:
Overall Genetic pyramid system Health including:
Genetic Nucleus Production
Boar Gene Centers
Genetic Multiplication
Some Commercial Production Technical Support Key Responsibilities:
Working with internal and local veterinarians responsible for:
Genetic Nucleus Herds
Boar Gene Centers
Herd and regional veterinarian of multiplication
Live Animal Commercial Farms
Database, testing and all activities associated with understanding current health status of all Genetic system pyramid locations and herds
Have access to all diagnostic results
Understand the source origin and health history of current genetic nucleus, daughter nucleus, and multiplier units
Visit all genetic system sites multiple times annually, as deemed necessary.
Maintain database and current status of all system units
Work with local veterinarian support for delivery health paper requirements, etc.
Keep all genetic system unit health profiles, vaccination protocols, record breaks and identify breeches, etc.
Perform vet-to-vet support when deemed necessary in all production segments. A successful candidate for the Genetic Services DVM will possess the following:
Technical proficiency in swine health, medicine, production and management
Diagnostic proficiency, disease implication understanding, and epidemiological study experience
5+ year commitment minimum
Relocation necessary and ability to travel domestic and globally extensively as needed
Technologically savvy, database proficient, and excellent verbal written communication skills - previous SOP and Guide Manual composition
Statistical assessment, records analysis, problem solving, decision making and solution driven skill set and experience
Leadership ability, industry rapport, respect and strong integrity reputation are required
Compensation: Compensation is to be determined based upon industry experience.
