- Proven ability to effectively communicate and comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively represent the company in industry-related events
- Strong administrative Office skills
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field is preferred
- Master's degree in Agriculture Business or related field is preferred, not required
- 10+ years of crop management experience
- Three to five years of budgeting and purchasing
- Necessary to have a basic understanding of safety programs JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm Manager for this northeastern Nebraska producer. The Manager has the all-encompassing responsibility to ensure that the farm meet or exceed company standards in an effective and cost effective manner.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for overseeing the daily operations for all farming operations including hiring of staff, security of facilities, facility maintenance, new construction and installation, pest control and grounds maintenance
- Scheduling daily staffing for production and maintenance of facilities
- Responsible for all cultural practices including irrigation, fertilizing, harvesting, insect monitoring on all crops grown
- Responsible for maximum productivity of all employees and management staff under your supervision
- Responsible for continuous process improvement and increasing efficiency
- Responsible for budgeting and its implementation
- Expand cross-training and delegation of duties to maintain highly motivated management staff
- Motivating management staff for long-term growth and retention within the company
- Responsible for enforcing the company's Employee Safety Program under your supervision and updating where needed
- Attend meetings as necessary to perform and implement responsibilities effectively, including monthly budget meetings, monthly safety meetings, and production meetings
- Maintain a team environment and work with other managers to support when needed and to optimize the value of farming staff for the betterment of the overall business
- Complete annual performance review of staff including goal establishment and monitoring of their progress to establish accountability
- Obtain and maintain licenses needed to oversee farming operations (PCA & QAL)
