Director, Crop Nutrients Procurement
Ag 1 Source is looking for a Director of Crop Nutrients Procurement to assist with the procurement of crop nutrients for this well-recognized organization. This role ensures the organization attains the best value in product and services required to enable achievement of its goals and works directly with retail agronomy partners to execute these strategies to enable their partners success. The ideal candidate will have existing relationships with crop nutrient vendors and manufacturers, experience in working fertilizer procurement and supply strategies across a wide market, and an understanding of transportation and logistics strategies for crop nutrients across the corn belt. Ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders to provide strategic insights on each of their unique business needs, help them resolve complex issues, and ensure their supply strategies are executed efficiently and effectively. What you will be doing:
Work with the VP to manage vendor relationships and develop strategies to maintain timely, competitive supply options for each member.
Assist the VP as needed in managing the departmental operating budget.
Lead the day-to-day internal operations, and ensure each members procurement needs are identified.
Focus on mitigating risk for each member, as well as providing timely market analysis to assist with the members decision making process.
Collaborate with the entire procurement team and cross-functional departments
Creation and management of short, mid, and long-term goals, and objectives. A successful candidate for the Director, Crop Nutrient Procurement will possess the following:
Experience in purchasing, contract negotiation and contract administration for fertilizer products.
Strong skills in contract management strategies and negotiating distribution contracts and agreements
Ability to manage multiple lines of transportation and terminal strategies across a broad marketplace
Compensation: Compensation will depend on experience.
